Sneijder in $36 million switch to Madrid

Real Madrid announced on Sunday it has reached an agreement with Ajax to sign midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

The Holland playmaker has been offered a five-year contract by the Spanish champions in a deal worth around $36 million to Ajax.

The 23-year-old Sneijder follows another Ajax protege out of the door at the Amsterdam ArenA, after Ryan Babel joined English Premier League Liverpool.
