Barcelona Sign Ibrahimovic From Inter For €40m Plus Eto’o

Barcelona have reportedly concluded the transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter.

According to Sport, Joan Laporta, Txiki Begiristain and Raul Sanllehi met with Massimo Moratti late on Thursday and an agreement was reached around midnight.

The transfer will see the Blaugrana part with €40 million plus Samuel Eto’o and Aliaksandr Hleb, with the Belarussian joining the Nerazzurri on a loan spell.

The Barcelona-based daily believes that Inter had initially informed the Blaugrana that Ibrahimovic was keen on moving to the Camp Nou, at which point the Catalan club contacted Eto’o, who immediately gave the part-exchange deal the green light.

And when Barca’s own negotiations with Valencia for David Villa all but collapsed, Laporta promptly contacted Moratti to arrange an emergency meeting last night upon receiving a request from the head coach, Pep Guardiola, to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

It is also speculated that ‘Ibracadabra’ will take a pay-cut in order to play for ‘El Tricampeon’ – and also ensure that he does not eclipse Lionel Messi – while Eto’o has allegedly demanded €13m from the San Siro outfit for a period of five years, or €65 million in total.

KS Leong, Goal.com

------------------

That's a monster deal.

The interesting thing is that both players were the top goal scorers in their leagues this year and meanwhile both players were hated by their club's fans! So they outcome of the deal wasn't a big surprise afterall. The only surprise is how valuable Ibra turned out to be!

ibrahimovic was overrated. He was the top paid footballer last year, he is arrogant and cocky.
he did nthg in europe..
yes he won serie a for inter last few years. but big games in europe, he never showed up.

this might hurt inter in serie a, but maybe get them better in europe.

also most of the reason for this i think is the tv rights money...
thats why roma, inter and milan arent thinking of improvement

next year tv rights will be distributed in much more fair manner, which will see top sides inter roma juve and milan earn less while other teams earn more.
and tv rights money is the main source of money to the italian teams

manchester city sign adebayor it seems. he was ac milan target..

while cisokho joins lyon for 15 million, with no teeth problems like milan claimed lol..

serie a teams are weakining. galliani/berlusconi are under huge pressure from milan fans. on other hand roma fans arent happy at all with their owner as well. and fiorentina lost felipe melo, and didnt get any star yet. inter will be worse without zlatan in serie a as well.

the only one who is improving is juventus. we might see next year a team winning the title by getting points in the range of 70 - 80.their wont be strong champion squad.

I also noticed sthg funny bout manchester city. they only sign strikers. right now they have 8 good strikers ( roque santa cruz, robinho, tevez, adebayor, bojinov, benjani, bellamy, caicedo)..
5 of those strikers were signed by the arab sheiks

The most expensive Serie A transfers until now:

date player to from m€

May '09 Diego Juventus Werder Bremen 24.5
Jul '09 Felipe Melo Juventus Fiorentina 20.5
Jul '09 Lucio Inter Bayern Munich 10
Jul '09 Javier Pastore Palermo Huracan 10
Jul '09 Rodrigo Palacio Genoa Boca Juniors 8

The Juventus squad looks very promising now.

Inter, juventus, lazio and napoli are the top spenders till now.

Tutte le notizie - Serie A: tutte le trattative concluse (23:00 del 18 luglio) | Calciomercato.com

Lazio got matuzalem for 7.5 million, while they also got zarate for 20 million.

Napoli got quagliarella for 18 million + cigarini for 12 million.

mid-table/lower teams strengthening, top teams weakning.

Knowing Mourihno, Inter will win another serie A title, and hopefully be a better competitor in CL.

Eto came for the CL, Helb will replace the brazilian Maxwell who hasn't been a great asset for Inter, He even wasn't chosen to join the brazilian sqaud in the last tournament, and Lucio will replace Materazzi who didn't play a lot of games last year.

Having a complete and superb midfield with a fast and unique wingers like Maicon, Inter needs another striker.
Crespo and Cruiz are useless, don't know if Crespo is staying, and Adriano is playing in Brazil.

The Italian teenager Balotelli won't be enough.
So, Mourinho will be targeting another striker, else serie A might be a failure for them.

My predictions for Inter's squad:

Cezar(GK)
Zanetti(C), Lucio(new signing), Maicon, Cordoba, Chivu
Campiasso, Stankovic, Muntari,
Eto(new signing), Balotelli

On the bench players like Mancini, Burdisso, Samuel, Quaresma, Materaazi, Helb(new signing) Thiago Motta(new signing), and Milito(new signing).

Vieira shouldn't touch the field. He should **** OFF.

The youngsters Belec, Krhin, Obi and Destro might find a chance to play in the italian cup.
Watch out from the Slovenian midfielder Rene Krhin.
A brilliant future ahead of him.

Inter looking good!

We are delighted to announce the signings of Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker from Sheffield United.

Tottenham Website

Tottenham also look set on selling Jenas to Villa possibly, according to Times.

Other club transfer offers:
Eto very very close to joining Inter, And Zlatan very very very close to join Barcelona.

Milan and Seville don't reach an agreement for Luis Fabiano, thus negotiations ended.

Wolfsburg might sign Nilmar, which might help Milan get Dzeko.

Mauro esposito could join bari for 1.4 million euros from roma. Worthless player

Andreolli could leave roma, in case new center back arrives.

Julio cruz could join roma on free transfer, he has refused to join napoli/lazio in order to join roma.contract for one year, and an option for second year.

Aquilani could be sacrificed by roma. Roma needs money, and aquilani is the superstar they can let go. In midfield they are very good. they afford losing aquilani.

Eboue joins fiorentina for 10 million euros.

According to Bild, Hleb does'nt want to move to Inter. If this is true, its expected hleb is asking a rise in wages. Which can distract the deal.
