Bad luck Gasquet!
He played a wonderful match against Roddick.
I Hope we see a great final between Federer and Nadal.
I hope Nadal wins because I can't stand the one who is trying to break Pete's numbers.

man Federer is trying to break Borg's record & not Sampras.
halla2 if you want to see it from the number of grand slams (10 to 14) & Wimbledon titles (4 to 7) ok ma3ak ha2.
bas Federer now is chasing Borg streaks & he wants to equal his 5 straight titles (Sampras won 4 in a row & not 7).
if Borg didn't retire at 26 he would have been the number 1 i history & not Sampras...

bas in 4 years time believe me Federer will be the number 1 tennis player in history & why not he can reach 20 Grand Slams.......

PS: i'm a Sampras fan also.

Wimbledon - Nadal blocks Federer's path to history

Roger Federer has admitted there are chinks in his armour as he bids to equal Bjorn Borg's record of five straight Wimbledon titles.

The Swiss world number one, who takes on arch-rival Rafael Nadal for the second year in a row, confessed that he has not played as well as in previous tournaments.

Default Federer wins 5th straight Wimbledon title - 8th July 2007

Roger Federer hit an overhead smash to capture his fifth straight Wimbledon title. He then collapsed to his knees in jubilation and relief -- just as Bjorn Borg used to do.

Federer played -- and won -- his first five-setter in a Grand Slam final, beating nemesis Rafael Nadal 7-6 (7), 4-6, 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2 Sunday for his 11th major title.

Federer is the first man to win five straight titles at the All England Club since Borg did it from 1976-80. The Swede watched the match from the Royal Box with other past champions, and applauded as Federer fell to the ground after his smash on match point.

After Federer left the court, he and Borg exchanged hugs and smiles in front of the board that lists tournament champions. Federer's name had already been added to the list for 2007.

Federer stretched his record grass-court winning streak to 53 and his Wimbledon winning streak to 34. He is tied for third on the career list with Borg and Rod Laver at 11 major titles, trailing Pete Sampras' 14 and Roy Emerson's 12.

Federer beat Nadal for only the fifth time in 13 meetings. The Spaniard has defeated Federer in the past two French Open finals to spoil his bid to complete a career Grand Slam.

Federer finished with 24 aces, 65 winners and 34 unforced errors. Nadal had 50 winners and 24 unforced errors.

federer is still the king on grass surface
but Nadal is progressing and he managed to battle in this final more then before
so i think nadal will soon become a complete player and be able to win on grass

till then Federer will set the record for win, s still 3 to go to tie it with sampras

Default Sharapova bounces back to defend Acura title by beating Schnyder - 6th August 2007

Top-seeded Maria Sharapova earned her first title in 10 months with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 victory Sunday over Patty Schnyder in the final Acura Classic tournament.

Sharapova used sharp groundstrokes in the first and third sets to capture her first championship since winning a WTA title at Linz, Austria, in October.

The No. 2 ranked player, who was the defending champion, dropped her first set of the tournament that had a 24-year run in the San Diego-area. Promoters sold the tournament rights back to the WTA Tour, which plans to relocate the event.

Default Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer to win Rogers Cup title - 13th August 2007

Novak Djokovic called his Rogers Cup semifinal victory over Rafael Nadal one of the biggest victories of his career.

It turns out he was only getting warmed up.

Djokovic upset world No. 1 Roger Federer 7-6 (2), 2-6, 7-6 (2) Sunday to win the $2.45 million Masters Series event, solidifying himself as a serious contender to win the U.S. Open beginning later this month in New York.

"It's a dream come true to win such a strong tournament as this and to win against probably the best player ever in the sport," Djokovic said.

With wins over Andy Roddick and No. 2 Nadal in his previous rounds, Djokovic also became the first player to beat the world's top three players in the same tournament since Boris Becker defeated No. 3 Michael Stich, No. 1 Pete Sampras and No. 2 Goran Ivanisevic in succession in 1994 in Stockholm.

Djokovic rose from No. 83 into the top 20 last year and has continued to move up this season. He will return this week to the No. 3 ranking, which he first took on July 9 but then surrendered to Roddick.

Federer remains tied with Becker for ninth with 49 career tournament victories.

Djokovic collected $400,000 for the win while Federer got $200,000.
