Idiots bashing the NT during its battles in China don't deserve to speak as Lebanese, let them go and forfeit their nationality if they're up to to their words.

China wasnt playing against Lebanon, it was playing against some NBA washed up players... Sort of a third division Arab/Western melting pot.

Again, China won fair and square, and fake Lebanese fans fiyoun yrou7o ytommo rassoun...

I hope that Freije, Vroman, Kanaan and Fares will play in the Lebanese league this season although I've heard that the clubs have major financial problems this year.

Wild card teams for Turkey 2010

The FIBA Central Board will assign in autumn 2009 four wild cards to four countries that have not qualified until then according to the following criteria:

The criteria for the Wild Cards
1. In order to be invited the team must have participated in the 2009 FIBA Zone Qualifying Championship.
2. There can be a maximum of three teams from any one FIBA Zone.

Together with the above two criteria, FIBA shall take into consideration the following aspects:

Sporting Aspects
- Popularity of basketball in the country
- Quality and sporting results of the national team of the country
- Quality of work by the National Federation

Economic Aspects
- Involvement of local television and/or competitions in domestic and international basketball
- Importance of country to FIBA's marketing and television partners
- Importance of country to the Organizers of the World Championship

Note: The FIBA Central Board is the highest executive body of FIBA where 20 members and three ex-officio members meet twice yearly. The Board establishes the Internal Regulations and assigns the organization of all world championships.

Matt Freijeh and Daniel Faris are of lebanese origin, unless the Americans
got too much into hommos , taboule and our culture and started using our family names

lak if there is one thing Lebanese may be proud of is the level that we reached in Basketball.
A country with 4 million population took the most out of a 1.5 billion nation basketball team and
almost beat them. Most of our players have more than a job, shi
bi bank shi bi company, their basketball salaries arent enough for them to live a decent life, the
whole team cost the federation less than 800 K for the Asian tournament preparation,
while the Jordanians prepared and paid 8 million to get their team ready.

Rony Fahed didnt go to fancy basketball schools like those chinese and koreans
players mustve went to, and yet he outplayed ALL of their guards and literally
humiliated them. Fadi el Khatib, regardless of his late poor preformance, is the best
guard in Asia's history with no competition.

We are proud of our Lebanese players and their performance, they stood up to
the team who were so arrogant to believe they were unbeatable in Asia. We proved
them wrong, I watched the replay of the semi finals game and you could tell the chinese
werent happy with their victory, they knew they won because of a **** referee's mistake.

Freije signed in the Australian NBL league with Perth Wildcats so no he will not play in the Lebanese league.
Vroman is getting offers from Croitia and Iran and most probably he wont play here unless he got a better offer which is not expected.
Ali kanaan still has 1 year of eligiblity in the NCAA with Umass Lowell so also he won't play this season in the Lebanese league.
Faris is a long story,he got an offer from the D-league and the guy has a weak character,he needs longgggg time to adjust with the pro basketball,in practices he's almost killing everybody with dunks and great skills but in a real game he's way away from his real level.
