Why Karam, Beidas, Tueni? In order to fill in my remaining 3 spots...

All jokes aside, I feel that Karam is an important legend in Lebanese history and he deserves a Top 10 position. Beidas created the greatest bank (Intra Bank) in the greatest banking centre of the Arab world: Lebanon. Because of him, the Lebanese economy was booming as it was called the "Swiss of the Middle East". Tueni is in there because he popularized the best Arab newspaper in history: An Nahar.

Why would you disagree?

Regards,

Ali Arz

Oppressing the farmers' revolt in Kesserwan and siding with the feudal landlords against the farmers'.

Intra Bank is the biggest disaster that ever occurred to Lebanon. It's another tale of corruption and bad vision. It's actually believed [by some scholars] that it's one of the major reasons behind the dismantling of the Lebanese state [through its economy]. Check this:

Waiting for SeekNirvana's negative points about St.Charbel and St.Rafqa.

Is it true that the civil war was ignited by St.Charbel? and St.Rafqa used to supply the PLO with rocket launchers?

Youssef Bey Karam, even though he came from a feudal family, but he proved himself loyal to the cause and fierce in battles. After he was exiled, he spent his days going from country to another rallying the for the cause.

I'd have to think of a few more today at work.

I always thought Yousef bek Karam was a bandit especially after that fiasco on the way to save Zahle in 1860 massacres.
