I think it is worth waiting for AT&T to release the unlocked version for $699 (16 Gb) rather then breaking the contract.

as for Robbers and Fido, I don't really know if they are going to do this.

I know they unlocked it but it hasn't been released yet. (check the website I sent you in a PM last time).

as for the contract, I know at least for canada, you will not be allowed to walk out of an apple, fido, or robbers store with an iphone without signing some hefty contract. (you option of breaking the contract by paying $400 after the first month bill has been paid).

It can be unlocked with the supersim thingy, the small chip you put under your sim card. As for the software unlock, it is still not out yet . . . and i am waiting patiently for it :)
