Default Who's behind the massive bombings in iraq? - 30th June 2009

I just decided to open a thread dedicated to sharing with you my views on the situation in Iraq and putting the focus on the latest wave of bombings that have been happening in Iraq lately. The fact is that during the past 4-5 years we have witnessed some massive attacks mainly in markets at rush hour and conceived to kill the highest number of civilians...the latest attacks took place last week in Iraq, targeting popular markets in mostly shiite sectors of Baghdad which killed hundreds of civilians. Also, some similar landmark attacks easily come to my mind such as the chain bombings against pilgrims in Ashoura (was it in Karbala? or Najaf?) and the famous destruction of the golden shiite mosque somewhere in Iraq...to name a few...

In the Spanish news, they dedicate an average of 20 to 30 seconds only to the most bloody bombings and usually the details they give coincide in every single attack regardless of where, why, when, how it took place : "a brutal attack has taken place in **** targeting innocent civilians...many casulaties have been reported...officials have blamed al qaida operatives or sunni factions trying to destabilise the government of Nouri Al Maliki"

....so the first thing that comes to my mind after hearing that **** is...who the hell would go around planting 300 kg bombs full of screws and metal balls in markets packed with women and kids...what the hell is alqaida? who are they? do they really exist? is this really the job of a bunch of apologetic fanatics...? are sunni iraqis behind this?....moved by this eagerness to find answers i investigated and found out to my surprise that the main sunni groups, and even islamic militants deny their involvement in such attacks almost on a daily basis...even youtube has video statements available...but these people are given no coverage at all and their statements don't reach the public.

...the second thing that comes to my mind is that incident that happened some 2 years ago in Basra, when iraqi soldiers halted a vehicle with 2 britons disguised as arabs, who were later identified as members of the british secret services, carrying in the trunk material enough to blow up a hole building...when the British forces knew of their arrest they simply moved the tanks in, blew up the walls of the prison and rescued their comrades...

i also heard rumours of agents of our beloved neighbouring country moving freely in iraq, entering through kurdish positions and moving in big quantities of weapons and explosives...sounds feasible...also, similar attacks with the same pattern occur on a daily basis mainly against shiites in pakistan and other volatile regions...

Misteriously this new wave of cruel attacks coincide with the withdrawal of US forces outside iraqi cities...sounds like someone wants to make sure that sunni-shiite hatred shadows the withdrawal and paves the way for more sectarian destruction...

What are your views on this? Is all this death caused indeed by sectarian hatred or is there a black hand pulling the threads...in that case, whose hand would that be? Also, if there is indeed a black hand, are Iraqis on the ground conscious of this?
