May he rest in peace, he shouldn't have gone to Afghanistan though.

Default Marc Diab RIP - Lebanese Canadian soldier - 17th March 2009

Mourners pack downtown Lebanese church to remember slain soldier

The casket of Trooper Marc Diab lies in front of family and friends at Our Lady of Lebanon church in Toronto, Ont. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

TORONTO — A large group of mourners have gathered at a Lebanese church to say goodbye to a fallen Canadian soldier from Mississauga, Ont.

Trooper Marc Diab, 22, was killed on March 8 in Afghanistan when a roadside bomb detonated near his armoured vehicle, wounding four other soldiers.

Military personnel and police officers were on hand to salute Diab's casket as it arrived at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Toronto's west end.

Jihan Diab has said her son dreamed of a military career from the time he was a boy in war-torn Lebanon and wanted to bring peace to the world.

The family moved to Canada in 2000.

Diab was the 112th Canadian soldier to die as part of the Afghan mission since 2002.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons based at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa in Ontario near the Quebec border.

Family, friends and fellow armed forces members watch as the casket carrying the remains of Trooper Marc Diab is carried from the aircraft to the hearse at CFB Trenton Thursday March 12, 2009.

Marc Diab's family is from Ain Ebel in Southern, Lebanon.

So this soldier is a "Lebanese" hero because he was serving the US and Canda in Afghanistan?

Is it becaues he's a Christian from Ein Ebl? Aqel Hashem was a hero too, a glorious one for serving Israel in Lahd's army.

Sorry to burst your racist bubbles, but the guy (may her rest in peace) died because he was in the wrong army, just like that (dead or not) Hassan who shot his friends the other day, tough luck.

Let's pay tribute to every soldier slain in Afghanitan and Iraq; it's not fair to pay tribute only to the Lebanese of them.

Am I supposed to feel bad for a guy who's sort of working for my "enemy" ?
