He died because he was doing a noble job for humanity, Afghanistan was not invaded for no reason and the maintenance of foreign forces in Afghanistan is stopping other attacks on unarmed harmless civilians that otherwise would still be taking place if the training terrorist camps were still in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan have the right for democracy the way they see it and they had their share of building the democracy they wanted after the soviet left and before the Americans invaded, they chose to have Taliban. As far as I am concerned Afghan people can elect whoever they want, if they want the Taliban then good for them and Taliban should gain power if they are elected but if they decide to engage in international terrorism then they will be invaded and be dealt with.
Marc died so we can live in our cities safe from those terrorists.

He had no business to be there, he was ordered to go there by a bunch of incompetent politicians who may very well mourn him and feel very bad for his loss, but at the end of the day they will return in a few months to discuss the pull-out of the troops when the mandate is over. They will wonder if the mission helped in anything, and will realize that it didn't help that much. The investment they put in "bringing democracy" could have been reduced to a tenth of its actual cost had it been invested in the right time and in the right way.

Poor soul, another human dying in the name of God or some "civilized values" depending on which side of the fence you are.

This mission in canada will not end before 2012, that is what inside Defense canada is planning at this moment. It is too bad that Marc's parent let him be in an army that is against our country; Harper is the mini version of Bush point final. He puts all the canadian money into defense to go to Afghanistan and we do not have medical care that makes a little sense.

Well, it was the Liberals who went to Afghanistan, not the Conservatives.
I might not be up to date with the news, but the mission is supposed to end later in 2009. I don't know if there are talks to renew it, but Stephane Dion was relatively firm about the pullout in 2009. Things can be different with Ignatieff, but either way, the Conservatives will need the Liberals to approve any extension. The NDP and the Bloc will certainly not agree on an extension.

The conservative agreed to stay in Afghanistan and put more money in to it. Look just in 2008 budget. Plus, yes Harper wants to renew the mission till 2012, thats the talk in Defense canada, lets wait and see if at the end of 2009, there will be no more canadian, I doubt it.
