Taqfir wal Hijra

Has this group ever operated in Lebanon??I know they have cells in Egypt and all over North Africa and elsewhere but did they ever operate in Lebanon??

I was reading a Guardians of the Cedars website and they claim that a Syrian backed Taqfir wal-Hijra cell was responsible for bombing Orthodox Christian churches in Tripoli in the past.

Any truth to this?

Here is the text from the website:- December 1999 - Taqfir wal Hijra, a Sunni Islamic fundamentalist movement established in the mountains of Dinniyeh in Tripoli, under Syrian's control, ambushed a Lebanese Army unit in the village of Assoun, killing 5 Soldiers. The clashes remained until first week of January. The Lebanese Army reported a total number of 11 Lebanese soldiers killed. The group allegedly bombed 4 Orthodox Christian churches in and around Tripoli in October and November of last year. The same group is linked to the Ain El Helweh Palestinian's camp, in Saida They all operate under Syrian's command.

This group refer to alkaiida same way few organisations takes 7elwe as their base. The army completely wipe it out and there are hundred of arrested extremists in the jail till today , that's why we see Mosbe7 a7dab the depute from tripoli makes a press conference each week and demands to release "sunni muslims" from jails.

Syria was in lebanon in 1999 and in case this group belong to her , she will not give a green light to finish it.

Thank you for the information ya 3ali.I am curious about things like this because the anti-Syrian people always say that Syria supports radical Islamist groups that attack Christians but apart from a few lines of text on right wing,anti-Syrian websites,I can not seem to find much that corroborates their stories.

Don't believe all they say , why most of arrested fighters from Fate7 islem came from saudi ?? i always wonder why

Fath el Islam came from wherever they could find ignorants and merceneries for hire.

and Syria was the Country which is most opposed to Islamists and Islamic groups in the entire region, they would never help an islamic group ever, such is seen in thier history.

All these "Islamic" groups are starting to give me a headache, every six people come and form a group this is nonesensical....

All muslims in Lebaon should listen to the real scholars and leave some fakes and vague individuals who come up with things....Allah Y3in.
