i wanted syria to get in the fight too, but the decision was a very serious one... it's crazy how u ppl think... if syria gets involved in any war in lebanon, u say "syria is interfering", or at best keep silent... if it doesnt, u say "syria is not fulfilling its duty"... lak wallla we are sick of being neighbours of lebanon!!!
and no one but SHN thanked syria for hosting lebanese refugees during the war... so thank you lebanon...

If Syria wasn't using HA to fight against Israel why it didn't fight against Israel? Were they scared??
Israel and Syria don't have any problem with each other they just use Lebanese ppl to fight each other. And you Syrians believe that Bashar ASsad is the protector of Arabs!!

It is normal that Syria will analise the lebanese war to discover israel's weaknesses and strenght, especially as this information would be valuable for the strategies to be used if a syrian-israeli war occurs. Iran are doing exactly the same things, examining the strenghts and weaknesses of America's troops in Irak and Afghanistan, which is invaluable given the large risk of a confrontation. Iran holds the upper hand in this, as the US won't know what to expect since Iran's last war was decades ago, and iran's military has completely changed since that time. This does not mean Iran triggered both wars on Irak and Afghanistan to hold test, although it gives them the opportunity to use these wars to their advantage. Hezballah are probably doing exactly the same things in analysing these wars secretely in the backround.
Any half decent military strategist of any country would take these necessary steps and prepare defence strategies to try and take advantage of these weaknesses. This does not always mean that a war is imminent, but many wars can happen by surprise and it is the responsability of any state who cares for it's people to analise those situations.
If our strategists didn't know more about restaurants in downtown than what they are supposed to know they would be doing exactly the same things.

Is Syria getting ready for a war?

War, you mean setting up a resistance group to recapture Golan, or sorry its using HA for that.

Shebaa farms?
Easily settled.. Hand over the maps Bachir.., or is that hard to do.

These last 6 months have shown all of Assads cards, and his days are numbered.

we're in 2007, and Hafez died in 2000...

and this is not only ONE move... Pres. Bachar said it... he does not have a magical stick, but he can do it slowly and over time...

and yes, i support a war to recover the Golan (and why not, to eliminate israel from the map)

Syrians don't fight, they exploit their smaller neighbors and use them to for political gain. Syria doesn't stand a chance, actually, what the Lebanese did in the south is historical. Over 30 days and 1 country... Arab world...6 days .

I surely hope that Syria is preparing for a war because Israel is definitely is!
