Default Some points fom ASSAD-AHMADINEJAD press conference. - 20th February 2007

Here are some excerpts from the press conference..

He added, “We also stand by the Palestinian factions’ efforts and the Palestinian government to enhance the national unity and keep resistance there until achieving the goals… and we support the right of the Lebanese people and resistance in this country to form its aspired government.”

Quote:
and we support the right of the Lebanese people and resistance in this country to form its aspired government.”
So they are all for the opposition demands to topple the govt.
Surprise, surprise, considering they are behind it.

Quote:
As for the Middle East, the statement condemned the Israeli continued aggressive and expansion policy in the region, voicing total support to Syria's right in restoring Golan to line June 4th 1967.
Is the president still on about the Golan heights. Doesnt he realise that he lost it.
Why doesnt his soldiers fire any shots instead of using lebanon as a battleground, or his soldiers are only good at putting fear into innocent Lebanese people.

Regarding the situation in Lebanon, the statement said,

"the two countries are stressing the necessity of boosting the national unity and concordance and supporting all what the Lebanese agree upon in a way that ensures Lebanon stability, security and territorial integrity."
They underlined support to Lebanese people's right to resist the repeated Israeli aggressions against the Lebanese sovereignty and restore the rest of its occupied territories, demanding the international community to put an end to the Israeli violations.

A bit rich coming from ASSAD ---- resist repeated israeli aggressions against LEBANESE SOVEREIGNTY.
Maybe we should ask ASSAD what the word soveriegnty means in his own words.

And then, RESTORE REST OF ITS OCCUPIED TERRITORIES.
Does he mean Shebaa farms.
Maybe if he released the maps that once and for all showed shebaa farms was Syrian or lebanese territory, then this issue can be fixed once and for all, and Israel can return it back to Lebanon.
If it has always been syrian territory, then stop using it as a BARGAINING CHIP, so as to get back the Golan heights.

Then there is no excuse for HA to be arming itself..

Funny how Assad supports the "resistance" in Lebanon and Palestine, but not Golan Heights.

hehe so true, but you know... as a Lebanese, there's one thing on my mind right now. SHOO KHASKON FINA... who are they to talk about issues in Lebanon, and support groups and activities that are supposedly Lebanese. This is ridiculous.

Personally I think if Syria wants to attack Israel let it from the Golan Heights. I think that area has seen complete silence for the last 30 some years . If Iran has animosity vis a vis Iran so be it . Let them do what they see fit across their own capitals. Lebanon cannot be the playground of either Syria or Iran. We will not be the playground or testing ground of any weapons be it Soviet, American, French or Israeli. When will the world understand. We are sick and tired .

There's nothing wrong with talking about Lebanon, or any other country.
