i voted that it's none of our business (but it isn't because i could care less) i mean after all whatever affects Syria is bound to affect Lebanon also i think that the syrian ppl are the ones who will decide their own fate and they have a long history of ovedrthrowing their governments. This is why Walid Jumblat should not work on overthrowing the Syrian Regime and greet the muslim brotherhood representatives in mukhtara. (Also i think, and this is my personal opinion, that if The muslim brotherhood takes power in Syria this will have negative reprecussions on our country).

Haruun,

This is rather asking: Do you prefere to be hit by the HIV or the birdflue virus?
Until i get immunized against any one of those perilous options, i feel that none of them is my safiest choice. Both have the potentials to infect and destroy vital organs in my lebanese body.

Most recently, Walid Jumblatt hosted the Muslim Brotherhood in Mukhtara and is outspoken with regards to the Syrian regime, he is openly calling for the US to remove the regime Iraqi-style.
Walid Jumblat on the other hand, has chosen another approach to this medical dilemma. While he apparently thinks that evil is best fought by another evil, and since there is no known cure against the curse of the baathis HIV casted upon him, he has decided to put all his remaining hopes in a sunni fundamentalist prescription for fast future recovery..

As a Lebanese I am not comfortable with someone from my country openly calling for the overthrow of a foreign government. This has nothing to do with the Baathists and I am not neglecting their crimes in Lebanon but I am questioning whether or not this is the right thing to do. I consider the Baath party an equivalent to Zionism, no difference. However, at the very least we can’t forget about Walid Jumblatt’s history with the Syrians and suddenly he’s against them but this is about us as Lebanese, all of us: should we be okay with people calling for the overthrow of Syria’s government? Will your stance be helpful to Lebanon? Why or why not?
This is a vendetta, between lords of feudal houses and a neighboring maffia branch. There are no statesmen involved here and all tricks and means are allowed, including sending desperate SOS to the skies, the americans, the muslim brotherhooders or the desert Jinn..
While wishing themselves the best, our lords also know that any outcome of this blood feud which does not enforce their lebanese political state, will most probably weaken it, thereof the desperation and the dangers we might face.

Syria was never a democratic Country, is not democratic today and I don't thing will be democratic in the near future, so it is not of significant difference who is in power. We as Lebanese should solve our own problems and keep our Country united before we interfere in the concerns of other Countries.

If Mr Jumblat wants to assist his Syrian friends khaddam, Shehabi and Muslem Brotherhood to come to power, I advise him to leave Lebanon and go to Syria to try his luck over there, otherwise he must be punished by the Lebanese Law, the same Law and reason that closed the MTV. If Khaddam and the Muslim fanatic Brotherhood, get the power, Syria will be back in Lebanon with the blessings of the USA. Khaddam and Hariri will share the power in greater Syria and give Jumblat a one-way-ticket to the ........

I personally do support a democracy in Syria with the Muslim Brotherhood participating in power. For Lebanon to be a secure state its neighbors cannot be unstable, because as our experience tells us that there is no internal stability with regional instability, and the Syrian people in all their views including the Muslim Brotherhood should be able to participate in the Syrian government so that each country starts taking care of running the people who voted for them rather than satisfying the expansionist agendas of dictators.

Bakri, it seems that you have new definitions of democracy, please enlighten me.

Don't forget to tell me how shukri alkowatli, adib alshishakli, Nour eldien Alatassi and Amin Alhafeth came to power?
