Let me give you a hint for one obvious reason for why it's comparing apples and oranges, though:

Nature of relationship.

The fact of the matter is the "nature of relationship" is almost irrelevant. Israel won't grant equal rights to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza as they do for current Israeli citizens for the simple fact that if they did the whole concept of Israel as a Jewish majority state would collapse. So let's stop kidding ourselves, please.

Elias, you seem like a well spoken and reasonable man, can you elaborated in more details on the following? “ .. Lebanon can not indeed integrate hundreds of thousands palestinians. It's not really an economic problem as I think that it may boost our economy but we have to consider this situation from a political and sociological angle. We still didn't manage to integrate the different lebanese sects, how could we integrate palestinians ? It may lead to another disaster which would affect Lebanon and its neighbours.”
