I like Olmert. He made us win a war on Israel, and it's rare to find another stupido of this caliber.
Now we will be stuck once again with one of the 2 most probable options:
-Someone like Benyamin Netenyahu whose plan, the "clean break",was destroyed once and for all by Olmert and Bush on July 2006,and thus, who does not have anything anymore to sell to the neocons.
-Someone like Barak, who was already defeated in 2000 and withdrew from the South, and whose experience could lead him to give back the Shebaa farms.
Note that Olmert stepping down just means that the leadership of the Kadima party and the premiership along with it will be changed. I don't think that the rest of the Israeli government lineup will be affected, as long as the new PM passes a vote of confidence.
Inside Kadima there's already people who would want to take his place and become the hero.
Israel's prestige is broken and someone strong enough could revive the population's excitement.
These people are Tzipi Livni from Kadima or Netanyahu from the Likoud.
These are the 2 persons, Lebanon should not see at the head of Israel. Barak or any other Labor party guy (or gal) would be far better
I just got info that it is indeed BARAK who will succeed As PM of Israel. Very Sad News considering the fact That BARAK and NATANYAHU are 2 cheeks of the same BackSide.
Every new Israely PM will try to prove himself in Southern Lebanon. No matter who's coming next, he will try to flex his muscles against Lebanon. Luckily, there will always HA around
Get ready for another round in the next few years...

Great so it will be Barak in Israel and another Barack in the USA. How many chances like that do someone get in a lifetime?
At least we won't have any problems remembering their names!
Good riddance! He was a horrible prime minister. Olmert has set the bar really low for the Likud. Who ever thought we'd see the resurgence of the Likud? Good news for Israel, bad news for Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, and the Palestinians.
/\ Funny how the main goal for an Israeli PM is to try to kick some major booty in the middle east, only to realize is they always shoot themselves in the foot instead and blame every mistake they make on something (or someone) other than themselves. Neo Cons and the Israelis will never learn their lessons.
Kinda sad isn't it.
