The only thing that he might have changed is the prisoners in Guantanemo prison or whatever its called. The only reason why people vote for him was because he is black. Nothing is gonna change with the economy and Obama is just there to be there as a black president to change the view of people like you who think he will change something. The USA is falling appart in every level from the international level to the economy and that is all the administration of the USA fault. And Obama is just there for the image that is all he is. In Irak to Afghanistan to every other country, nothing has changed and nothing will change except more hate trowed the USA.

I do not think nothing is going to change. I am sure it will. My only fear Obama will make it worst, not better.
As to the rest of your post, I do not see the reason for your pessimism.
We have been there many times before and we survived and came out better and stronger every time.
BTW, in case it is not your pessimism but rather your wish. If it will be bad for us it will be much worst for all others Canada including.
