What Merkavas got to do with Syria's inability to protect its land forces from air attack? Merkavas shouldn't even be used.

Any tank is nothing but mechanized coffin. Why use it or even have it? In early 80s Soviets had an estimate of average life span of tank platoon (3 tanks) in battle at approx. 5 minutes. Today it must be even less.

Actually israel lost only 2 mercava tanks last year...

I did not read this wiki article but I am willing to bet that losses were greater than just two tanks.

I personally do not care how many tanks were irrecoverably lost (may be just two) and how many were repaired and put back into service. Important part should be not the number of tanks hit but rather number of casualties in those tanks.
