Because the Qur'an is the message of Mohamad.

If there are no specs on how to pray anybody can choose his own specs because God did not deem it was important otherwise he would have written down in the Quran.

The Qur'an covers the rules and the core, the specific details were for the prophet to teach. You can't include everything in a single book. You need a book on its own to teach you how to do the compulsary prayers.
The Qur'an is flooded with verses stressing on the importance of prayer, it explains the time of prayer, the number of prayers and the wudu2 and tayyammum. The movements were taught by the prophet, they're more like a meditative excercise routine (if you're familiar with mediation and yoga).
