I love Chinese food, but I try to avoid it. When I do go there, I ask them to tell the Chef not to put any in my dishes. I am not sure if he actually does just that or instead adds pubic hairs or dirt in to punish me...

i am very surprised that nobody has mentioned the BEST LEBANESE RESTO IN BEIRUT AND ALL LEBANON....ISTANBOULI IN HAMRA!!! it's small, not that elegant and hidden like underground...but the place has the best hommous b la7me in the world apart from the rest of the meza which is simply glorious...also they have different daily menus with the typical yakhne, w akeed mashewe etc...try the 2atayef wil knefe for dessert. It's a landmark in Beirut, for Beirutis...plus the price is sooooo affordable!

Italian : Scoozy in Verdun
Pseudi-Chinese : Chopsticks in DT
French : Le relais de L'entrecote

I also used to love to sit, smoke and eat at the Rooftop place at Virgin Megastore...but i haven't been there for quite a while now...

As for my favourite snack i'm so humble...i die for a sandwichet turkey and cheese 3al sage at Bliss 2iddim l AUB!!!

Another favourite lebanese is Al Balad, but the one in Jounieh...the views are great and the place is really cozy and comfortable...plus the food is quite good...

SAIDA

In Saida I recommend ALHAN...it's on the sea 3a jisr l awwali before the chekpoint. They serve mainly fish and seafood and actually it's one of its kind in the region...the place belongs to Fadil Shaker
Palamera is not bad either...it's close to Pizza Hut...western style food, a full menu and unexpected good quality.
and don't hate me for this...but please be aware of the new traditional places that opened facing the sea castle (zawat & co.)...despite their nice design and comfy seating the food simply sucks...not even a simple pasta dish is acceptable...the arguileh sucks and the meza is an insult...

SOUR

If you ever go down to the beach or anything, don't miss sandwichet fateyel 3ind Mahfouz in the old Souk...it's a small snack...the place has been there since 1950's and today it's excatly the same wat it used to be...a gem...also, Al Rashid is great for sandwichet, specially the kafta ma3 laban. There's also a fish and seafood resto in the old port of Sour...it belongs to a christian family i believe and it's a small and hidden suprise if you feel like getting a break from the sandwichet, but i can't remember the name...another nice place with a chill out jaw is Cafe Najjar...try it at night...
