Default are you active in an NGO? - 15th March 2009

hi i just want to know if
- you're active in an NGO ?
- which one ?
- how old are you ?
- if not what do you think of them?
for those who don't know NGO means Non Governmental Organization, it's all the associations that work in society(helping poor communities, education,...etc) and not related to governments or political parties

Well I used to be part of the church in Ottawa and the church organise events to raise funds for poor people and stuff like that. I stoped because the priest is a hardcore LF and I was being hypocrite with myself by being invidaded with such low humain beings.

Anyway, I am a volunteer in the cancer society. I make jewelleries and sell them and give the money to the society. At my job, we also do events to raise funds for the poor, I am one of the organisers for those events but it is a part of my job, so it doesnt really count.

I am thinking adopting a child one day specially if I stay single with no children, I think it is a good idea if every couple can adopt a child even if you have your own kids, it is always a good movement to change the absolute of someone's life.

I am on the executive committee of a union local in Montreal and on the board of two NGOs (One in education sector and one in Resource management for other NGOs). I have now 32.

What is the objective of the questions?

I am raising an NGO at home made up of 2 members...so far.

Its tiring, many times disappointing, but amazingly rewarding.

What is the objective of the questions?
just to know if the people in this forum are engaged socially elsewhere,
and to discover new NGOs,
me and many of my friends have free time, and we're searching for a useful way to use it.
