i know that kids will be sent tomorrow before 12 to their houses cos the schools think its safier and better there!
so beware all tomorrow! its not dangerous, but why take the risk and look at it!

you imagine that all the country will be paralised by a solar eclipse
i mean it is a normal day
the same damage will occure if you look at the sun right now
and tomorrow nobody will notice those 5 minutes
anyway i am planning a hold up because everybody will be at home

كسوف جزئي غداً والصحة والتربية تنبهان

يشاهد اللبنانيون ظهر غد كسوفاً جزئياً للشمس يصل الى حدود 90 في المئة، ويمكن مراقبته في بيروت.
واذاعت مجلة "علم وعالم" – القسم الفلكي بياناً اشارت فيه الى "ان لبنان سيشهد كسوفاً جزئياً يصل الى حدود 90 في المئة، ويمكن مراقبته ابتداء من الساعة 12:40 ظهراً وحتى الساعة 3:16 بعد الظهر (بتوقيت بيروت)، وسيلاحظ الناس انخفاضاً في مقدار ضوء الشمس وهبوطاً قليلاً في درجة الحرارة. وسينقل لبنان مراحل الكسوف الى المشاهدين في العالم العربي عبر الفضائيات اللبنانية والعربية من سطح محلات "فيرجين" في وسط بيروت، حيث ستثبت مجلة "علم وعالم" والمجموعة اللبنانية الفلكية ومؤسسة "آفاق علمية" السعودية مراصد متخصصة بمراقبة الشمس، وستكون الدعوة مفتوحة لكل الناس والاعلاميين لمراقبة الكسوف بالنظارات والمراقب الخاصة.
يبدأ الكسوف الساعة 8:36 (بالتوقيت العالمي) من صباح غد الاربعاء عندما يهبط ظل القمر على الارض في شرق البرازيل. ويكون عرض الظل نحو 129 كيلومتراً ويشهد الناس كسوفاً كلياً يستمر نحو دقيقة و53 ثانية. بعد ذلك يتابع الظل سيره في المحيط الاطلسي بسرعة 9 كلم في الساعة ليدخل الساحل الغاني في القارة الافريقية قرابة الساعة 08:09 (بالتوقيت العالمي). وعندما يكون ارتفاع الشمس قرابة 44 درجة فوق خط الافق. ويتابع ظل القمر سيره حيث يصل الى ساحل البحر الابيض المتوسط على ساحل ليبيا ومصر نحو الساعة 10:40 وهناك يستغرق الكسوف الكلي نحو 3 دقائق و58 ثانية. وبعد ان يمر الظل بين جزيرتي كريت وقبرص يصل الى السواحل التركية نحو الساعة 10:54 (بالتوقيت العالمي). ويستمتع سكان مدينة انطاليا الساحلية بكسوف كلي لمدة 3 دقائق و36 ثانية. وعند وصول الظل الى حدود شمال منغوليا يغادر الارض وينتهي الكسوف نحو الساعة 11:48 (بالتوقيت العالمي). وبذلك يكون الظل قد قطع مسافة 14:500 كيلومتر في نحو 3 ساعات و12 دقيقة.
وذكر البيان "ان الكسوف الشمسي هو ظاهرة طبيعية لا تستدعي الخوف او الهلع، ولكن من الضروري التنبه الى عدم مراقبة الكسوف بالعين المجردة مما قد تسببه الاشعة ما فوق البنفسجية من ضرر لشبكة العين".
واستأثر هذا الشأن باهتمام وزارة الصحة العامة التي نبهت الى الخطر الناجم عن التحديق بالشمس عند كسوفها، لأنه يسبب ضررا بالغا بالعين قد تصعب معالجته، مما يؤدي الى فقدان النظر.
ودعت المواطنين الى اتباع الارشادات الآتية:
"1 – عدم السماح للاطفال والاولاد في المنازل والمدارس ودور الحضانة بالخروج الى الشارع او الشُرف خلال فترة الكسوف، لأن من الصعب ضبط الاطفال ومنعهم من النظر الى الشمس.
2 – يمكن البالغين متابعة اعمالهم كالمعتاد داخل الابنية او خارجها، مع تجنب النظر المباشر الى الكسوف.
3 – يروج عن اساليب عدة للنظر الآمن الى الكسوف، الا ان بعضها ليس مضمونا علميا. ويجب الحذر وخصوصا من استعمال نظارات لا تستوفي شروط الامان للحماية الكاملة.
4 – الحذر في شكل خاص من العدسات المكبرة وآلات التصوير وعدم استعمالها اطلاقا للنظر الى الكسوف او تصويره.
5 – ان اسلم طريقة لمراقبة هذا الحدث هي بمشاهدته عبر التلفزيون، وخصوصا ان محطات عدة ستبث صورا مباشرة للشمس خلال عملية الكسوف".
كذلك عمم المدير العام للتربية جورج نعمة على المسؤولين عن المدارس والثانويات الرسمية والخاصة، محذرا من "ان التعرض لاشعة الشمس فوق البنفسجية من شأنه ان يلحق الاذى بعيون التلامذة اذا لم تتخذ وسائل الوقاية المناسبة". وطلب الى المسؤولين عن المدارس "اتخاذ التدابير الاحترازية لمنع تعرض التلامذة لعملية الكسوف".

PFC,
in a normal day, the sun is not such a curious thing for individual to stare at... so the risk is minimized, and when you do look at it, it burns your eyes, so you turn them away; whereas in an eclipse, ppl tend to look at the phenomen, at there is no burning sensation is not so disturbing.... but it is much more harmful.

Let's just hope no accidents similar to the ones of the last eclipse do happen! ( i remeber that 2 or 3 persons lost their sight

Does someone know if they are selling those glasses that we can use to see the eclipse and if yes do you know where?

im sure ull get a nice pair from virgin!
weird they didnt start to sell them on the streets!

Umh asslane buying a pair of glasses that are suppose to protect my vision from the street is not really something I would like to do! but I will try virgin 10x
