Icon10 organising a lebanese picnic...i need help!!! - 22nd June 2009

hellow guys,

I need some advice cause actually i'm taking a big group of spanish friends to Lebanon this summer and I'd like to prepare some sort of picnic a la libanaise for them, but unfortunately I couldn't find the appropriate place yet...

my idea is to organise a picnic in a traditional lebanese stone house, somewhere in the chouf preferably...with mana2eesh, olives, labneh, bread, shy, some fruits etc... i'd like to know if such a place exists...somewhere where they have the typical stone oven and they prepare the mana2eesh for you... maybe it's too idealistic, but the guys will love it...

i'd really appreciate if anyone could help...i'd also consider somewhere else apart from the chouf...

guys....the future of Lebanon's reputation and tourism is in your hands...

thank you in advance...

Go to Chouwen fo2 Naher Brahim (Ftou7 Keserwen) its the best place you'll ever camp/picnic at!

you'll find a big waterfall, a lac where you can swim, a refreshing river, and lots of nice places to sit in,

don't forget to take trash bags with you!

Latinorange, you'll have a great time in 3youn Orghosh (near Qornet el Sawda) between Bcharre and Deir el Ahmar.

you're gona find trash like EVERYWHERE else in Lebanon :) for me i consider it one of the cleanest places i've visited (nature wise)

and i forgot to tell you that you can also swim there and fish!
but watch out, if the current was strong i don't advise you to swim :)

3youn orghosh is like what you see in a horror story! Far away from everything related to technology, no signal on your cell phone, and everyone there owns a gun! But still a good place :D! great for atv as well (there's awesome labne at a place there :) ) oh make sure you go during apple season, there's awesome apples as well, and when you steal some, they're tastier!
