Sorry to the Brazilian members or the ones who are living in Brazil for what I am going to say, but I had several bad experiences with Brazilian people. They are nice and enjoy life but the ones I met didn't share at all the same values I do. Behind those big smiles I found a lot of rudeness and lack of honesty. This doesn't mean they are All like that, but that's what I can say about my personal experience.
In Italy it was completely different. I love my Italians friends!! They are very sweet and tender. Get a friend here is like to get a new family. When you met a nice person, prepare yourself: you will meet his parents, uncles, cousins, grandparents, even the fiancé's family! haha! They will treat you like a King/Queen in their homes but you should show them joy and gladness to be with them. And they will love for the rest of your life.
Honestly I don't notice much difference between Italian and Lebanese friends: they will be helpful to you without any attitude or we can strongly disagree about something but in the end of discussion we will kiss each other and say Ciao, Ciao. If you are talking with wildly gesticulating Italian yelling at you in the cafés he isn't actually angry... that's just his way to show he likes you...

Call me racist or whatever you wish but I always think that I am great only because I am a Lebanese... I am very proud of that and I don't hide it. And Italians are just like this, they are very confident. Just knowing that Rome once ruled the Western world seems to give even the most ordinary Italian a sense of greatness.
So, as we have the same personality I don't notice great differences.

No differences?????????????????? What about the kiss matter!! After a discussion, when we don't have the same "affiliations", either we shoot each other, or insult or NEVER SEE AGAIN!! Loooooooooool It was just for kidding!!

I am also proud to be Lebanese. I will never EVER try to have another nationality!! And I am proud that we have Lebanese JUST LIKE YOU, living outside the COUNTRY and still loving it!!
The best thing that ever happened to me is my birth in LEBANON!!

I second that! My parents made it clear that all their children would be born in Lebanon. I was Christened in Italy with Lebanese water!

Thank you anyway for all of what you've written! It was a pleasure reading your posts and your experiences!! I'm the MOST hurted person by FRIENDS!! but I beleive that that's the way we're acting during FRIENDSHIP as Lebanese!!
Kakou tu as employe une drole d'expression "acting during" Friendship ... comme si l'amitie a une duree precise puis expire si c'est le cas donc ce n'est pas une Amitie proprement dites appelons la une relation quelconque . si c'est une vraie amitie elle n'a pas de duree fixe avec une date d'expiration mais c'est pour la vie ! and i know many true friends that do not act at all like this ... the opposite is true .
donc all this might be just "acting" nothing true nothing from the heart ...it is just "acting" au sens propre du mot !
true friends do not have to make lots of "acting" some times a call a chit chat will do the job over a cup of coffee... some times silent presence will make you feel serounded and cherished ...
