Default Lebanese friendship? - 5th March 2007

I've just got this e-mail and I wanted to share it with you!! I loved it!

FRIENDS VS. LEBANESE FRIENDS

FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Always bring the food.

FRIENDS: Will say "hello."
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss.

FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Call your parents Uncle/Dad and Aunt / Mum.

FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Cry with you.

FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing and just being together.

FRIENDS: know a few things about you.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds' *** that left you.

FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"

FRIENDS: Are for a while.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Are for life...

So.......... What do you think about Lebanese friendship (true one)??

LOL.. Replace the term Lebanese by American , or Chinese, and you'll realize its racist .

The word should be True friends..

Friendship is not about nationality, it is about the supportive behaviour of two or more humans. It is about sympathy, mutual understanding, honesty...
And these values are not linked to any nationality, race, color or whatever...

Regards,

I agree with you, but it was just to show how a LEBANESE behave as a member of the family!! And I think that it's sooooooooo true!! I don't think that the other "Nationalities" would do the same!! Not sure!! But that's what I think!! I ADORE LEBANON AND LEBANESE!!

BTW, friendship is so precious!!

well i'm glad that there's finally a positive email about lebanese people and behavior! !

wherever you are, either you have good friends or not, but i really sensed the lebanese behavior in some points like:

Quote:
FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
LEBANESE FRIENDS: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing and just being together.

You should have more friends in other countries, perhaps live there for a while

True kakou that friendship is so precious and that "A friend in need is a friend indeed" but u have many Lebanese people who are somehow related to the "FRIENDS" u referred too. In other words, they could call ur parents Mr. and Mrs. and never ask for food and be there for a while... There's many of those especially especially especially in Lebanon.
There's many people that could trick u and play nice with u and act as if there are friends, but then they go stab u in the back. If u didn't met any of those in ur life yet, I hope u don't meet them at all... Cause I can tell u that I've had my little experience in this and I can tell u it hurts like hell :)

And I have to agree with Freak, the exact word should be true friends!

Regards,
I agree with you, but I also see Kakou's point.
There are Lebanese good friends and Lebanese fake friends but by my own experience I can tell that although I live abroad my best friends are Lebanese. They are always there for me (as I am always there for them), we support each other in everything and the girls are just like sisters for me.
I know we can find these qualities in Chinese and Americans, but us Lebanese are... jut special! When help,we help smiling!

Regards,
I disagree. It's the culture and its values that make the above true.

It all encompasses the values that you just stated.

Cultures differ from each other, and therefore a Lebanese can differ in a way he treats friends and how he acts around them. I've noticed that from my time over here in the US. But this does not also mean that some of these cultural values are not universal especially in this era of globalism.

Regards,
thats the TRUE friendship wich is based on no other then honesty integrity love understanding tolerence and caring . be there with you for you in good as well as in bad times ....

but ...and there is always a BUT ... like superman said i think that many of us had their own bad experiences with "fake" friends (i know i did ) who spent houres at your table who brought food who had their laughter with you who entered your house as if it was theirs for years and yet at the first occasion and for some "personal intrests" they simply : ignore you , backstab you , vanish , they dont even call once a year to ask about you and when they occasionaly see you somewhere byebermo wejjon as if they did nt see you ....it happen ...a lot ...believe me~!!!!!!!
profound tue friendship this days became une monaie rare not only in Lebanon but evrywhere . thats why i always say be very selective when you choose your friends to avoid being decieved one day .
