Default Lebanon to Israel "hands off our hummus: - 3 Weeks Ago

Lebanese to Israel: Hands off our hummus! - Yahoo! News

Some 300 chefs were involved in preparing Saturday's massive ceramic plate of hummus in a huge tent set up in downtown Beirut. The white-uniformed chefs used 2,976 pounds (1,350 kilograms) of mashed chickpeas, 106 gallons (400 liters) of lemon juice and 57 pounds (26 kilograms) of salt to make the dish, weighing 4,532 pounds (2,056 kilograms).

It was not clear what the former Israeli record was, and organizers gave conflicting reports on when it was made.

But chefs and visitors broke into cheers and applause when a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records presented Abboud with a certificate verifying Lebanon had broken the previous record. The plate was then decorated with the red, green and white Lebanese flag.

Done that also. Check out who are the major suppliers of humus in the US.
You guys are already too late. Competition is a good thing.

Actually, your hummus sucks big times, even worse than the Turkish. Not being biased, but I've tried hummus everywhere and found most hard to swallow. They add too much Tahini to it , not enough lemon and the olive oil isn't virgin enough for our taste buds.

You must've missed Robbins "fashar". You couldn't even keep your grip on our land, you think you can stand a hummus challenge? lol By the gods it's the best thing we can ever make.

What challenge? You already lost. You are right, we prefer our hummus with less lemon, to each his own.

The Lebanese are so proud of their hummus yet they are not able to export it. Israel is in the process of taking over the hummus market in the US and Europe. Why wouldn't I be proud? Don't talk, do. Build hummus factories and beat the Israeli competition. I thought Lebanese were supposed to be good at trade. So, what is the problem?

You have all rights to make trade as you want with whom you want even if you were mass murdering country as Israel but the wrong thing is registering Homos as Israel traditional stuff. That is so called cheating and lie.

Traditional food in 60 years aged country,Israel shows fun sometimes.

First, 20% of Israelis are Arabs and hummus is their traditional food. Second, over half of the Jews are from Arab countries and hummus is their traditional food. So hummus is the traditional food of over 60% of the Israeli population. It is you that is cheating and lying. You are letting your hate blind you. Hummus is a traditional Israeli food. It is also a Lebanese traditional food, I do not deny that. One food can be traditional in several countries.

When was hummus registered anywhere by the way? What are you talking about? This is just BS. Israel does not need to register hummus to sell it. And Israel has never claimed that hummus is only Israeli. All the falsehoods in the Arab world and especially Lebanon are sour grapes. We beat you in the hummus market and you are trying to find excuses instead of competing commercially. May the better hummus win!
