Lebgirl,
For your research , you probably know that:
1) a married woman traveling abroad is asked by law to present a written authorisation from her husband to travel !!!!!
2) a mother does not have the right to open a joint bank account with her minor kids without having the husband as a coholder, whereas it is not the same for the father.

Keep me posted please on your research. If you need help , give me a sign.
serenity,
i would love some help! check your pm..

ummmmmm
I agree to some extent with mount amel, and I mean no offense to women at all, nor do I believe that women are inferior to men.

I just believe that when a woman marries a foreigner, he will have the bigger influence on his children in sense of belonging.

I do not want to disappoint you but go to the closest bank counter and tell ask them about opening an account for your sister and her son of 10 years old for instance. Tell me what they will answer you!!!!!!
Secundo , even if they do not stop all married women at the airport. Legally they have the right to do so. It happened with a friend of mine no later than last sunday !!!!!!!!!

Even if you think this law is fair/justified/whatever, you can't deny that it is discriminatory! Giving men rights that you do not also give to women is by definition discriminatory.
Anyway, as others have already stated, it's much more likely for a child to be faithful to their mother's country of origin than to their father's since the child probablyspends more time with his/her mother.

who said so??????????????
well my dear rienzei if you do some research you will see that this is untrue, and myself i have a lot of friends married and as a matter of fact it is the woman who have as much influence on her kids than the father does!!
I really cannot believe that in the 21th century people still discriminates like that against women in Lebanon!!

Yes the law is a pure discrimination against lebanese women, and it's a shame!

I just feel the obligation to clarify one thing: foreign women married to lebanese men don't get the lebanese citizenship that easely, they get a long stay visa (Iqameh). They follow the same process as foreign men maried to lebanese women. The discrimination is only when it comes to the kids: children bron to a lebanese father get the lebanese citizenship automatically, while those born to a lebanese motehr from a foreign father have to wait till they are 18 to apply for citizenship and it's a long process.
