Although I love Lebanon it is impossible for me to tolerate it. Life is not about creating an idealistic notion in ones mind and then glorify it to the point that you cannot see reality. There many good things about Lebnon of course, but in my opininion there are many many more bad things, the least of which the absence of laws, individualism and the respect of basic human dignity... Things that are most important to human beings, and transend the kibbe and taboule and all these nostalgic poems about your grandpa's terrasse!! Sorry to be negative on this and maybe rain on some people's parade.... I love Lebanon, but I cant and wont live there. I will visit from time to time though ;)

Sorry joseph luban

I think you are not quite precise, I live know in canada for 3 years and I dont find that we have more respect than in lebanon and we are treated as less than numbers we have no value whatsoever here. just tax paying machines.

Leb lady

how can you compare this way???

I totally agree with lubnan joseph...in canada or wherever we live in the world we are better than lebanon concerning respecting human rights...

Plz be realistic guys....lebanon is great but it needs to change

This subject isn't the topic of this thread, so i urge you to stick to the topic of this thread and you can go to continue this discussion in the thread 'just came back from lebanon"

yes lebanon needs to change but what we needs to do as lebanease is to go over cliche. when you electricity rise over 18% in one year, no one dares to say a word, and you have to wait for 7h in emergency waiting room to have your child treated for a simple flu.......

Lebanon is not perfect but at least it is not so worst than other places,

We are very good at cliche!!!!!!!!!

Open your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for human rights in europe it's better but I dont thnik that in other parts of the world it's so obvious.

They use human right issues only when it suit the governement in charge.

again open your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live now in Canada for 5 years and never was disrespected. On the contrary, the people are so respectful and the government respect the people. The government is always trying to improve our quality of life. For almost a decade (up to the year 2001),Canada was ranked number ONE among 175 countries in the United Nation's Quality of Life survey.

no one is begging you to stay, go home, and trade your visa to another lebanese who would be more appreciative of all of the opportunities you have ahead of you.
