i agree that this should be adopted in lebanon, but not to the extent when you have to say bonjour to everyone around you
for instance here in Brussels, everyone says bonjour to everyone even if they are total strangers! you go in a shop you say bonjour, merci..au revoir even if you don't buy a thing! however in lebanon you go in and then leave as if there is no shopkeeper around! la bonjour wala byebye! unless fi ma3rifeh

when taking the elevator to get to the office you should say bonjour to everyone inside (even if you've never seen them your entire life), then bonne journée when leaving it or bonne appetit if it's lunch hour, or bonne soirée or bon weekend if it's a friday! and if you don't people might think of you as someone "sheyef 7alo"
what i also like is that when 2 people's eyes meet on the street or wherever even when they're total strangers, they smile to each other and nod as if they're saying have a good day!
it may sound silly, but it's great to live in a city where you feel everyone around you is very friendly!
