Default Beirut's tallest tower project unveiled - 20th September 2009

arabianbusiness.com
Thursday, 13 August 2009

Lebanon’s Antonios Projects launched a new 200 metre skyscraper on Thursday, which is set to be Beirut’s tallest building when completed in 2014.

The 50-storey mixed use project called Sama Beirut will consist of residential, commercial and retail space, a statement said on Thursday, without giving details of the value of the development.

It will be located near downtown Beirut, in Ashrafieh. Antonios Projects is owned by the Lebanese developer Fadi Antonios.

Real estate consultancy Prime Consult advised on the purchase of the land for the project.

I wonder how many offers have we received so far from foreign countries to lease the top roof so they can install their sophisticated spy equipments on us.
Just kidding no one spies on us… It’s another fizay3a; zay ma 3am illak..

Although, we might have to relocate the airport or shut it down for air traffic when the wind shifts causing the tower to become an unsafe obstacle on Take off or go around especially if they have engine problems. But what the hell, we’ll always have Larnaka.

Pardon my French Ditou, but the Lebanese love "khwazee2". How else would you interpret June 7?

Anyway, this tower is typical Lebanese modus operandi... Build and never mind whether the infrastructure around it (electricity, phones, ROADS, water, sewers, etc...) can support this increased capacity or not.

You think Ashrafieh traffic is bad? Wait till Sama Beirut is complete!

That's the second problem... Lebanese developers don't even think about creating parking space. Let the streets around it deal with it. I have to maximize tenant space to maximize my own profit.
