كيف يتجرأ شخصٌ على القيام بهذا المشروع؟ حانة في الضاحية الجنوبية و «كاسك»..

حانة في الضاحية الجنوبية! تظنّ في البداية أن الخبر لا يعدو كونه نكتةً، أو مقلباً يحاول أحد ما أن يوقعك فيه. تتردد في إبداء ردة الفعل. تأخذ حذرك كي لا ينطلي عليك المقلب. وتسأل نفسك: «معقول كذبة أول نيسان».
لكن سرعان ما تتذكر أن شهر نيسان ما زال بعيداً.
في كل الأحوال، الخبر الغريب يستحق المخاطرة. وغرابة الخبر سببها أنه لم يسبق أن افتتحت حانة في الضاحية الجنوبية، ليس في السنوات الأخيرة على الأقل. وعليه، تقرر أن تذهب لكي تتحرى بنفسك عن الموضوع.
تصل إلى المكان المنشود، في منطقة الصفير تحديداً. حينها تتأكد: «الخبرية مظبوطة». ينتابك الفضول، فتدخل.

يشبه المكان سائر الحانات التي ربما تكون زرتها أو شاهدتها على التلفاز. كل شيءٍ في المكان يؤكد أنها حانة فعلاً: البار، الكراسي المحيطة به، مجموعة الزجاجات المعروضةً فوقه، وكؤوس البيرة والنبيذ والشمبانيا التي تزين الواجهة، وأيضاً الرجل الذي يقف مبتسماً خلف البار، فتطلق عليه سريعاً تسمية «البارتندر».
لا تعير الرجل الكثير من الاهتمام، بل تتابع التأمل.
حسناً، إنها حانة. لم يعد هناك مجال للشك أو للنفي. ولكن الاستغراب يظل قائماً: حانة في الضاحية الجنوبية!

لحظات ويصير المشهد أكثر إرباكاً. تتوسط الحائط، مقابل «البار»، لوحة كتبت فيها سورةً قرآنية. إرباك سرعان ما يختفي عندما يعلمك الرجل أن الحانة لا تقدم الكحول.
يختفي الإرباك ويظل الاستغراب، مرفقا بأسئلة عدّة: كيف يتجرأ شخصٌ على القيام بهذا المشروع الذي يعدّ مخاطرة بحد ذاتها؟ فالمسألة لا تتعلق بوجود الكحول من عدمه، بل في تحفّظ سكان المنطقة إجمالاً على هذه المظاهر، باعتبارها لا تتناسب مع تقاليدهم وعاداتهم المحافظة، النابعة من توجه دينيّ في معظم الأحيان.

والجواب على لسان أحمد، صاحب الحانة. يشرح أحمد السبب وراء المشروع باعتباره نوعاً من التعبير عن نظرته الخاصة لهذه الأماكن.
عمل أحمد ما يزيد عن ٥ سنوات في الجميزة ومونو والحمراء، متنقلاً بين حاناتها. يعتبر أن المرح لا يحتاج بالضرورة إلى شرب الكحول، أو تعاطي المخدرات مثلاً، كما يحصل في بعض الأحيان. وبناءً على ذلك جاءته فكرة إقامة حانة من دون كحول.

ويضيف أحمد أن معظم من يرتاد هذه الأماكن، يأتي بهدف احتساء الكحول، غير أن هناك من يأتي لدوافع مختلفة، كالاستماع إلى الموسيقى مثلاً، أو التعرف إلى أشخاصٍ جدد.
يشير أحمد إلى أنه ما أن أعلن عن افتتاح الحانة حتى تلقّى زيارةً خاصة من شخصٍ عرّف عن نفسه بأنه «مبعوث من حزب الله». قال إنه جاء كي يتحرى عن ماهية المشروع. وعندما شرح له أحمد وجهة نظره حظي بـ«مباركة» الرجل وموافقته.

يبدو أحمد واثقاً من نجاح مشروعه. ويعتبر أنه يقدم بديلاً عن الحانات التي يتردد عليها الناس عادةً. «هنا، يوجد كل ما يمكن أن يخطر في البال من مشروباتٍ وكوكتيلات يمكن الحصول عليها في الحانات العادية، لكنها خالية من الكحول».

علي هو أحد الأشخاص الذين وجدوا في هذه الحانة بديلاً كان يبحث عنه دائماً. يقول علي إنه كان يشرب الكحول، إلا أنه امتنع عنها لأسبابٍ دينية. وأجبره هذا الالتزام على التوقف عن ارتياد الحانات. مما شكل له معضلةً لم يجد لها حلاً، إلى أن تعرف على هذه الحانة. «أنا بحب قعدة البار، يمكن تعودت ما بعرف! استطيع أن أمنع نفسي عن الشرب، ولكن ليس عن المرح».
يكسر علي الصورة النمطية المسقطة على الضاحية، وهي أن جميع سكانها من لونٍ واحد. فهذه المنطقة الأكثر كثافةً في لبنان تجمع فئات مختلفة، يمثّل علي إحداها، وهي فئة تحاول الانفتاح أو التأقلم مع كل ما هو جديد، شرط أن لا يكون ذلك على حساب عاداتها وقيمها.

لكن لمحمد موقفا آخر، فهو يرى أن الحانة هذه لا تختلف بشيء عن أي مقهى موجود في الضاحية. «إذا كنت تريد أن تشرب كوكتيلاً أو مشروباً ما، يمكنك بكل بساطة أنا تزور أحد المقاهي المنتشرة بالعشرات في الضاحية». ويرى محمد أن ما يميز الحانة عن المقهى هو تقديم الكحول، وفي حال عدم وجوده، بكل بساطة، لا يعدّ المكان حانة.

قد يشكك البعض بجدوى هذا المشروع، وقد يندرج افتتاح الحانة ضمن موجة المطاعم والمقاهي التي شهدت ازدياداً مرتفعاً في الآونة الأخيرة. غير أنه لا يمكن تجاهل رمزية وجود حانة في منطقة ذات خصوصية معينة. منطقة تحاول تجديد نفس باستمرار، لتؤمن نوعاً من الاكتفاء الذاتي لمختلف فئات سكانها.. من دون التعرض لخصوصيتها، في الوقت نفسه.

Away from politics (as much as possible), what's the real scientific facts behind the poisoned vegetables rumors and stories? Koussa, malfouf, banadoura, etc. etc. If there's no smoke without a fire and if 5% of what's being said is true, then WE ARE PLAYING A LA ROULETTE RUSSE EACH TIME WE EAT A F***ING POTATO!

I, therefore, call upon all to contribute with objective data and helpful opinion to discuss this issue and maybe come out with practical recommendations and/or actions!

By the way, did the tayyar deputees, whom we respect very much, take any action so far regarding this SERIOUS issue??

BEIRUT: Electricite du Liban (EDL) intends to file a law suit against customers who have failed to pay their bills.

EDL has a launched a web site (EDL) which lists the names and addresses of all those who have failed to pay their dues to the company. The area covers Beirut, Sheyah and Antelias regions. According to a statement recently released by the company, EDL will be compelled to cut off power as of next month on all those who failed to pay their bills on time

EDL intends to file a law suit against customers who failed to pay their bills, who will be notified by authorities.

Our children are one, six and eight-year old. I am looking for advice on a suitable place (like hotel) to spend the time. I am open to all alternatives, like sea or snow, big city or village etc... So I thought, what better place to ask then here in the Orange Room? I have a lot of respect and admiration so many of you in this forum. BEIRUT: After an unprecedented influx of some one million tourists to Lebanon this summer, the holiday industry is eagerly anticipating a repeat performance for the imminent winter season. Alecos Loucaides of Varianos Travel, a Cyprus-based travel agency that specializes in ski trips to Lebanon and particularly to the Mzaar ski resort near Faraya, is optimistic. “I believe summer 2009 has the potential to be a very successful year for winter tourism in Lebanon,” he said.

Largely unknown to the public of Europe and North America but celebrated by ski-lovers in the Arab world, Lebanon boasts six ski resorts at heights of up to 3,000 meters. Its eminence as a leading regional ski destination placed it in the running as a host for the Asian Winter Olympics.

Ronald Sayegh of internet-based travel agency Grey Matter said that although Lebanon is not yet as popular a ski destination as the Alps, “ski tourism is slowly and surely improving.”

“As a company we re-invest the majority of our income into marketing abroad but the intervention of the government is necessary here on the global level to promote Lebanon as a ski destination.”

According to Byblos Bank, the number of incoming tourists to Lebanon totaled 1,284,945 in the first 8 months of 2009, constituting an increase of 45.1 percent from 885,729 tourists in the same period last year.

Arab tourists accounted for 42.1 percent of total visitors, followed by European visitors with 24.2 percent, Asia with 14.4 percent and the Americas with 13.2 percent. The Lebanese tourism industry is optimistic that the increase of tourist influx will perpetuate into the winter season.

“We expect a busy winter, at least like last season. Since skileb.com is specialized in ski bookings, we started receiving early reservations for the New Year, January and February, which indicates that winter will hopefully attract skiers,” said Sayegh.

Sayegh said that the number of visitors has been increasing since they started their business, “and winter tourism is taking a share out of the big cake. The internet has greatly affected bookings since people always considered Lebanon to be a desert with no snow. Sayegh’s company, which represents around 30 hotels in Lebanon, takes bookings mainly from foreigner visitors.

“Skiers come from all over the world including South Africa and Australia ... some travelers plan for a split stay between the resort and the coast,” he added. “What makes skiing in Lebanon special from other resorts is the “Swim and ski factor” that Westerners enjoy. Despite this being more myth than reality, Sayegh said: “This is surely possible during March and we had tourists who once did it.”

Sayegh said the health of the winter tourism industry in Lebanon stood at “five out of 10, since there is still big room for infrastructure development.”

However, the agent added: “This has to go in parallel with a global winter tourism marketing strategy. [It’s an] egg and chicken situation!”

Loucaides, whilst also predicting a big year for his business noted that there are also obstacles facing winter tourism in Lebanon.

“If there is something holding winter tourism back it is the much needed improvements that need to be made in Lebanon’s infrastructure.”

Shrinking snowlines are also something that trouble Loucaides. “I anticipate an increase on last years’ numbers with my only concern being the weather and when there will be enough snow for the ski resorts to start operating,” he said. “Climate change is obviously a big worry all over the world.

We have noticed that the last few years the snow has been a little late in coming. This is a big issue for ski resorts everywhere and maybe they need to be the first to go green, or at least greener. «لكم حَمْراؤكم ولي حَمْرائي»: مسابقة تبحث بالصور عن «روح» الشارع

منذ حمل هذا الشارع اسمه، كم كتب عنه؟ كم صورة التقطت له؟ كم تغزلوا فيه؟ وكم من ناس سكنوا مقاهيه وأدراجه وأزقته ليل نهار بلا ملل؟ الجواب ليس ملك أحد، لكن المؤكد أن هناك دوماً مشروعاً عن شارع الحمراء، وهناك دوماً رغبة لدى عشاق هذا الشارع لتجسيده بطريقة ما، للحكي عنه، لتخليده.
إنه الشارع الذي يخبئ لناسه وجهاً ملوناً بلون مختلف كل يوم، وبعد فترة قد يغريهم بوجوهه كافة. هكذا تجد سكانه يرفعون رؤوسهم فجأة إلى الأعلى، أو يلتفتون يمنة أو يسرة ليكتشفوا فيه ركناً جديداً لم يلحظوه من قبل، أو واجهة مبنى، أو نافذة، أو لافتة لم يتوقفوا عندها في الأيام السابقة. تجدهم يتناقشون في أكثر ما يجعلهم مدمني هذا الشارع، وتجدهم يختلفون.. لسبب بسيط ، لأن لكل منهم «حمراؤه».
لمحمد بدر أيضاً، حمراؤه الخاصة، التي تحولت خلال السنوات الأخيرة إلى شغف، حاول أن يشبعه بأن يسكن الشارع لأطول وقت ممكن. حمراؤه التي قرر خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية أن يحولها إلى مشروع جماعي، يوثق كل مشترك فيه الشارع على طريقته، بعدسته الفوتوغرافية الخاصة، فيلتقط صورة واحدة يقول فيها هذه «حمرائي».
هكذا، ولد مشروع بعنوان «لكم حمراؤكم ولي حمرائي»، تطلقه شركة «سبريد مايندز» التي يديرها محمد، ويتوجه إلى كل مصور، هاو أو محترف، يستطيع أن يلتقط تناقضات أو تجانسات أو عناصر هذا الشارع.
لماذا الحمراء من دون غيره؟ يجيب بدر «لأنه لا ثاني له في لبنان، شارع متميز في كل شيء، باحتضانه لكل الناس، بجمعه لطبقات اجتماعية مختلفة وانتماءات سياسية وعقائدية وفكرية متنوعة، لأنه يحمل عشرات القصص لوجوه باتت جزءاً منه، ولا نستطيع أن نتخيل الحمراء من دونها».
يملك محمد عشرات الإجابات عن سؤال كالسابق، ولا يتوقع المرء أقل من ذلك من شخص قرر أن يجمد «هواه» قليلاً في محاولة لاستيعاب أهواء الآخرين، إذ يقول إنه «لشدة التصاقه بهذه المنطقة التي أدمن بدوره على تصويرها، قرر أن يفسح المجال للآخرين ليدلوا بدلوهم وصورهم عنها». يريد الشاب للناس أن يخزنوا ما تراه عيونهم في هذا الشارع بالذات، ولو بشكل عابر يومياً. يحثهم على أن يصوروا ويصوروا ويصوروا، كي ينتقوا في النهاية صورة واحدة يقولون فيها «هذه حمراؤنا»، من دون أن يدّعوا أنها «تختزل حيواتهم كلها».
إذاً، بدءاً من اليوم، وحتى 22 تشرين الثاني المقبل، بإمكان أي شخص مساكنة بلاط ومباني ومقاهي وشرفات شارع الحمراء، حتى يحصلوا على لقطة تمثلهم في المسابقة. وإبتداءً من اليوم يستطيع كل من سبق أن حمل عدسة تصوير ووثق لهذا الشارع، أن يبحث في أرشيفه ليختار صورة مفضلة يريدها أن تقول رأيه في الحمراء. فالمسابقة لا تحدد إطارا زمنياً للصورة، والمسابقة بحسب محمد «تسعى إلى دفع الناس لخلق علاقات جديدة مع هذا الشارع، أو توطيد علاقات قديمة، ولكي يدركوا أكثر أن هنا مساحة مليئة بكثير من التواضع والعفوية، بعيداً من الوجوه المركبة والجلسات الاصطناعية المترفة بلا هدف».
الشرح هذا كله، يختصره محمد بقصيدة كتبها، وخرجت منها فكرة المشروع: «لكم حمراؤكم ولي حمرائي/ لي المقاهي الصاخبة وألحان الجاز الهاربة من أبواب العلب الليلية/ لكم تجاهل الشحاذين/ ولي قصصهم المنسية في تجاعيد الوجوه/ لكم ضجيج السيارات في الظهيرة/ ولي صمت الأرصفة في العشية/ لي روح المدينة/ تتنقل في أضلع الجدران بحياء/ كصبية تغازل صبياً/ لكم مكان، أحجار، أشخاص، ولي... حمرائي!».
روح الحمراء التي يتم البحث عنها، ستتجسد في عشرات الصور وربما المئات أو الآلاف، وفي المرحلة الأولى سيتم اختيار خمس وسبعين صورة منها، لتعرض في عدد من مقاهي الحمراء. أما في المرحلة الثانية فسيسمح لمرتادي المقاهي (التي تعرض فيها الصور) أن يختاروا صورة أحبوها، لتشكل نسبة تصويتهم هذه 10 في المئة من النتيجة النهائية، فيما تحتسب 15 في المئة من النتيجة على أساس التصويت على صفحة المسابقة في موقع «فايس بوك» (علماً بأن موقع المسابقة على الإنترنت هو lihamra2i.com وتبقى النسبة الأكبر، المقررة للنتيجة النهائية، للجنة التحكيم الموسعة التي ستشمل المصور الإيطالي الشهير، غرازيانو فيلا، وهو متخصص في تصوير المساحات والمواقع الهندسية (المطار نموذجاً). بالإضافة إلى ممثل عن شركة «نيكون»، وآخر عن وزارة الثقــافة، وعن صحف «السفير» و«البلد» و«النهار»، وعن «تلفزيون المستقبل»، إلى جانب محمد بدر وممثل عن جمعية تجار الحمراء.
ويلفت محمد أنه إلى جانب الجوائز العينية للفائزين، ستنشر الصور الفائزة في كتاب يباع في المكتبات اللبنانية، ويوثق لشارع الحمراء «كقلب المدينة بلا منازع، لا يشبه أياً من الكانتونات المحيطة والموزعة... لأنه لا يشبه إلا نفسه».
