Aziz has been employed with Best Security for over a month when he decided to leave his old job at the Sunshine factory.

Best offered a full time job from 8 AM till 8 PM and now paid 2$ per hour (3000 liras), 6 days a week.

This meant an income of +600$ for Aziz, just sitting in front of a bank in daytime, then shifting to an insurance company in the evening (shifting from the pub guard at night).

That's much more than what he used to do at the factory and a no-brainer decision, it seemed, as it also allowed him to have a much normal schedule.


... Things were going well for a few days, when Aziz started noticing strange things around him. He was never a fan of guns or any kind of weaponry and was under the impression that his job would only entail the use of a talkie-walkie at most.

How wrong was he.

One morning, his supervisor -Walid- asked him to pass by his office and seemingly wanted to tell him about something.

Walid: "Aziz, you've been here for some time and I really like you as a person and per your work"

Aziz (pleasantly surprised): "Well thank you sir"

Walid: "I am about to present with you an important issue that we don't share with all employees.."

-Silence-

[Aziz nods]

Walid: "Aziz, times are getting harder in the streets and as you know, at anytime an armed gang could attack a bank or another company and as security guards, we are little equipped to do anything about that.."

Aziz: "That's correct.."

Walid (interrupting): "Aziz, we need to be ready as a company to face such possibilities, therefore I have decided to trust upon you the usage of some weaponry as I will present them to you"

[Aziz gets tense]

Aziz: "Us, using weapons?"

Walid: "That's right, but as I said - not all guards are selected to do this, only a few and you have been chosen... Are you up to it?"

Aziz: "Well, I was never a fan of guns"

Walid: "Be careful when choosing your answer because it will frankly affect your stay with us"

[Aziz thinking... he got too much at stake now, after leaving the factory and really needed the money to spend on himself and his parents..]

Aziz: "Very well, but I would like to make sure that we're talking of light arms as pistols and that all this is licensed and everything"

Walid (with a little smile): "But of course habibi.."

-FAST FORWARD to a few days afterwards-

Bullets flying around him, Aziz is holding an AK-47 and frantically trying to operate it from the building where he's holed up. The **** gun seemed stuck when Aziz realized that the security switch is still on.. A real battle was going on with dozens of militiamen in the street around his company's office and all firing in an organized and sustained manner.

Many of his friends have already sustained injuries and he already shot a few rounds in the street, unsure if they actually hit target.

What happened within a few hours so that Aziz found himself in the middle of a warzone, using an automatic rifle while all that he was supposed to do was to stand guard at a commercial outlet?
