First, IDF's opinion is as official as is that of state of Israel, in fact, it is one and the same. And it is as official (if not more) as AI's opinion. Hamas's opinion probably is just as official from the other side of the conflict. Both are biased and both have equal right to exist. I see not reason for you not to reference Hamas or any other source if you see fit.
Second, AI is just as unbiased as IDF is. It is strangely lopsided. If you disagree you will have to explain why did it take them 8 years and Israeli Gaza offensive to even notice Hamas's rocket fire into Israeli populated areas despite Israel's constant complaints to UN and International Community overall.
Now, if you recall what I said in the past:
"be prepared for veracity of witnesses testimony be heavily questioned as well as impartiality of investigators themselves"
This is absolute truth. I did not mean myself however. Reasons are many. I am not representative of any side, I do not have necessary resources including time, I am not even smart enough to do it properly.
But if this matter will ever get traction in any court this is going to be very long and very hard battle. Everything, and I mean everything, will be questioned and with extreme prejudice too. The only problem is that nobody, IDF, Hamas, AI would ever want it, for it will eventually lead to parading everyone's dirty laundry, which none of them can afford.
