Greetings ,
You brought up great thoughts ! 1st. (Comparison)
Lebanon is a diverse society w/ a multi-cultural heritage + there is no sole-dictator there. & the Presedent has limited authority & cannot dismantle the constitution.
-
Iraq is also a diverse society w/ a a multi-cultural heritage. However , it was governed by a dictatorship regime until recently.
(its enough to see the victims of Halaabcha massacure & the mass graves of innocents to realize that brute force can surpress the will of people) - if u apply the reign of terror to a nation & aquire the applauds of your neighbouring regimes by المال السياسي & seize control of the media with a tight seige on the intellectual mind = YOU RULE
=============
- In Lebanon , Christians are the safe guard. الرقم الصعب
- In Iraq , it is the Houza (Religious clergy) however , since its shia. Saddam marginalized its powers by producing "Khomaini-phobia" & claiming that he is the "Safe-guard" for Arabs.
=============
Thus , each situation has its own specific elements to determine why , when & where an event like revolution can occur.
2nd will be following today.
