The levant is the center of education, arts, science...many glorious civilisations contributed to that...and I do believe there is a sense of belonging to something called Mediterranean as a kind of homeland for all nations in the basin. I am proud of being Mediterranean and find myself somehow like home when I visit Greece, Italy, Spain or Turkey...
I am not identified with an Arab...at least not anymore...there have been great arab leaders...think of Khaled Ibn l Waleed, Abdel Qader, Nasser etc... from time to time a great leader emerges and the arab masses follow blindly... i'm not sure if arabs are indeed genetically retarded as many believe, i think it's more that their senses are not fully developed yet...the existance throughout history of great men prooves that the fault lies more in the masses...arab masses are ignorant, uneducated, easily manipulated, naive, impulsive and quite dumb... they lack the ability to think in the long term and solve problems and dilemmas...arabs are easily tricked and satisfied...they'll eat your left overs if they like you...i always remember how they were fooled by Lawrence in Arabia...Arbas admire those who are superior to them. They love to be ruled by powerful and ruthless leaders, cause even if they suffer challenging their ruler is out of the question.
