Dear All,

After several rounds of voting, long discussions and heated debates, we finally decided to adopt the law proposed by Red Phoenix, and would like to thank all the members who provided us with their own laws. Thank you for your effort!

The chosen law states the following:

Orange Room 2009 Elections Law1- The OR 2009 Elections will evolve through 3 rounds of elimination, resulting in ONE winner
2- Only members with at least 1 year membership to the Orange Room and over 500 posts are eligible to run as candidates, but all members can vote
3- No "lists" of candidates can be formed
4- The first round will be executed through a multiple choice public poll
5- The Top 8 candidates of Round 1 will proceed to Round 2
6- Round 2 will be executed through a multiple choice public poll
7- The Top 2 candidates of Round 2 will compete against each others in the third and final round
8- Round 3 will be executed through an anonymous poll

The candidacy and campaigning period will be closed on Friday July 3, 09 at 11:59pm Beirut Local Time.
A poll will be opened on Saturday July 4, 09 and Round 1 will officially start. The voting will go on till Tuesday July 7, 09 11:59am, and the top 8 members proceeding to Round 2 will be announced.

Round 2 will begin on Wednesday July 8 and will go on until Friday July 10 11:59 am. The 2 winners of Round 2 will then be announced.

Round 3 will be launched on Sunday July 12 and will go on until Tuesday July 14 11:59am

Once the election process is finished, the winner will be announced and honorary titles will be given where due to highlight and appreciate all members who have put an effort in these elections. Prizes will be revealed later on.

It is to be noted that the administration reserves its rights to modify any factor of the aforementioned law if needs be. These modifications will only take place in extreme situations and as a last resort. This right will not be used to influence the elections outcome nor to favor any candidate over another.

As these elections are taking place in the Community forums, no political alliances are allowed, all members are equal irrespective of their political affiliations. Also, alliances based on race, nationality, religion, sect, gender, age, economic class, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, and familial status, are prohibited. Beside the aformentioned, alliances can be based on whatever projects or ideas you deem fit.

Further announcements will be released when necessary.

The thread is now officially open for members to present their candidacies, programs, and electoral campaign (banners, posters, slogans...).

We hope your aspirations are fulfilled in these elections and kindly urge you to keep them as organised as possible. Breachings of the elections law will not be tolerated

Have fun, be creative , and enjoy. The race is on
