Your logic Is Correct but this topic isn't even intended to be religious nor is it about God You can really Apply this to anything else, Imagine a very well known Lier Comes to you and Tells you that this is your Father's written will and The Will seems believable except for the fact that your Father seems to have Given this Man almost 1/4th his fortune (Could it be he Changed it maybe:)
Or Imagine a Christian comes to you and tells you that he has this book which contains the words of Jesus then you ask him how he got it and he says We got it through the enemies of Christ and the worst of Sinners, would you then convert or tell him "Ha! your religion is Bogus".
