Default Obesity in western world - 13th May 2009

Obesity in Australia
Recent studies show that 47% of women and 63% of men are overweight or obese. Australians are at the point where it is almost more "normal" to have a weight problem than not.

Over the last decade as a nation we have continued to gain weight. If the current trend continues, it is estimated that by 2010, 70% of Australians will be above their healthy weight range.

When i first arrived here i was shocked by how fat people are some are really young to be that fat and it is scary as the government now trying to let people be aware of the side effect of obesity and warning people to give healthy snacks to kids at school ..they don't sell chips and sweets at school so kids don't eat it..with all the warning you find lots of kids also obese..
In the beginning when i was in lebanon i thought that obesity was sickness, but actually it isn't.Thanks God we are not obese in Lebanon I guess our food helps to keep us healthy..
So the question that puzzles me what in your opinion causes obesity is it health issue is it food..why in some countries you don't find that large number of obesity?/
