Those intrusive FPMers who constantly disclose their hate to the clergy are in many cases, orthodox FPMers, shiite FPMers, armenian FPMers, sunnit FPMers, or even atheist FPMers... so you have to admit that the hate issue is more of a faith issue as well, its not like those highly clergy-critical FPMers are contradicting their religious faith, in many cases they could care less spiritual-wise.
As for the Maronite FPMers on the critic of the clergy, you cannot blame those, the Maronite clergy hasn't shown any good intentions towards them, neither has any clerical institution.
Being in the middle as you suggested (at least the official stance) is a very good solution election-wise.
