lebanon is an artificial country, as old as 1943, a gift from french colonials to maronites, some scribble on the map by the french colonials between their english counterparts. that's why it is unsurprising it collapsed into a civil war, never to truly rise from it. the concept of the sects living together simply doesn't work. lebanese have been very efficient and vigorous in one thing - killing off each other and spilling their own blood. even your 'holy resistance' couldn't change that equation.
i wouldn't be surprised if lebanon imploded, got absorbed by syria, got broken up by federalism or simply continue degrading into more and more failure.
