Default Looking for an article - Lebanon monetary policy - 13th November 2008

Hey all,

A year or so ago, maybe longer, someone posted a very long and very interesting article in the political section of the forum (the lfpm politics one) written by a prominent Lebanese economist, I believe, about monetary policy in Lebanon, focusing in particular on the $1 / LL1500 dynamics. I've been searching through the forum to search for it, and can't find it, and neither can I see it in the otherwise excellent archive section that Watani has created. I'm sorry I can't be more specific as I don't remember much about the article other than that I thought it was fascinating, so much that I want to do more research on the topic now. In particular, I want to find out how the BDL is managing the banking sector, pertinent especially given the consistently strong performance by the banking sector it seems even in the face of this current global crisis (did anyone read that article about us in the Financial Times? Was a proud moment for Lebanon). If the above sounds familiar to anyone I'd really appreciate it if someone could send me in the right direction to find what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance!
