it's still not released, they can still easily add a post effect lighting shader filter to selectively enable in the options menu for those users looking for a grittier look.
that would be a shortcut, but at least it wouldn't tick off all ppl.
personally i'm curious about the new look, blizzard usually know what they are doing and end up impressing me nonetheless.
