While I agree with you that Aoun should refrain from attacking newspaper as directly as he did, I believe it is strategically well-done. Why? By confronting l'Orient le Jour, he has turned l'Orient le Jour totally against him. Anyone who read l'Orient's answer to Aoun could see how humiliated they were, and how it is their ultimate goal to bash Aoun at every turn. What is happening, is the final shift of l'Orient, from a pseudo-neutral newspaper to an entirely partisan and propaganda newspaper!
In other words, Aoun's bashing of l'Orient has credited l'Orient. But l'Orient's answer(s) discredits its and credits Aoun... But that is mere speculation. |
