FPM needs to counter attack on a big scale; and by counter attack i dont mean bashing the phalanges and LF; but on the contrary, marketing the pro-active path to find a peaceful solution to the hot points of conflict; in particular HA's weapons.
the chopper's incident was a major set back to FPM, HA needs to make amends to remedy the shaken public opinion within the Christian street in specific.
at the end of the day; it will all come down to the following:
there are two ways to disarm HA, either by force or peacefully. disarming HA by force will lead to a bloodshed the likes of which our country has never seen; the americans will not be sending their own soldiers to fight this war, it blood that will flow will be that of our own sons and daughters.
FPM should market the peaceful alternative, with the following major headlines:
1- turning the resistance from an islamic (HA) one, to a Lebanese one
2- refusing to disband the resistance through internal dialogue, and preserving the weapons & the missiles until the time comes for the peace negotiations with israel, where they can be used as a leverage against the nationalization or possibly the public debt. |
