2- I cheered GMA in 1988-89 Because I beleived in one and only one army should exist in Lebanon. But when I see all the defense and justification for HA weapons from no other then FPMer i get pissed off. I would rather see and LF weapon vs other terrorist militias. | that's where you are wrong. GMA moved more than one inch during the "harb el ta7rir"; the syrians and their allies forced the Lebanese army back, and GMA lost the military war. the question you should ask yourself is why did he lose? politically, all the Lebanese leaderships that now parade as heroes sided with the syrians against GMA. in particular the LF, which along with bkerki provided the Christian cover to the American/Syrian agreement to take over Lebanon. militarily, the LF artillery was shelling the Lebanese army posts in the back and from the back, as our heroes were trying to resist the syrian invasion. so yes, GMA lost a battle, but he won a country. while your friends may have won the battle on october 13 1990, but they lost their honor and their right to lecture about resistance. as to HA weapons, we have provided you with a way to peacefully solve the problem with two major advantages, 1- solution without bloodshed 2- leverage during the peacetalks with israel. why cant you envision a solution that doesn't involve bloodshed? why do you want to strip the weapons internally when they can be used as an important bargaining chip against the nationalization of the palestinian or against the public debt when the time comes for peace? stop following your emotions and try to think rationally. |
