The government doesn't want the Palestinian weapons at the first place. It already owns their holders.

The government just wants HA's weapons ...and more...HA's head and body.
It is obvious that the government has no intention whatsoever to tackle the Palestinian weapons despite the fact that the camps represent a much imminent danger to the Lebanese overall, especially with the episodes we’ve witnessed in Nahr-El-Bared and with the on going episodes in Ein-el-Helwi and other places.

My question was originally directed to the loyalist supporters who are rationalizing going to war against HA over the issue of the weapons, under the pretext that they feel threatened by HA and that only the Lebanese Army should hold weapons. Don’t they think that the Palestinian camps ought to take priority over HA’s weapons?

Willingly turning a blind eye on the palestos camps underlines that the loyalists are motivated by a different agenda than the one they have announced in the open; it means that their ultimate goal is not to restrict the weapons to the hands of the Lebanese army, but rather they are motivated by a sectarian and regional agenda that intends to eradicate the nuisance caused by the resistance.

I don’t want to sound sectarian here, however, I can imagine FM supporters rooting for such an agenda in the light of the shiite-sunni confrontation throughout the middle east, but I cannot fathom to have Phalanges and LFers blindly market it without realizing the consequences of disarming HA prior to disarming the Palestinians and bringing the camps back under the control of the Lebanese authorities.
