ComputerWorld has created the list of 15 fixes which Apple should add in the next 2.0 version of iPhone. And though not all of these fixes are indisputable, the list represents hopes and expectations of all present and future iPhone owners.

1. 3G Support. No comments - high-speed Internet is necessary to 21st users, and Wi-Fi is far not everywhere. Also it is very desirable, that with 3G included, phone’s charge has not suffered.
2. GPS. As we know iPhone already has Google maps, therefore GPS will be logical development of this option. And it will clear the way for the device into cars.
3. Autoreplacement in autofilling. Now iPhone has autoreplacement function, but it works only when the user has already typed a word. If Apple’s gadget will offer variants during word typing, it can essentially raise speed of text typing.
4. Support of the virtual keyboard in horizontal orientation. For this moment only Safari offers a virtual keyboard at horizontal orientation of the device. It would be great to extend this function to other applications and components.
5. Freedom to 3rd-party developers! Apple suggests to developers to create only web-widgets for iPhone, it is called a mockery. For developing of high-grade applications it is necessary to get into iPhone (it means hack the OS, an unlocking and other not most authorised methods), and this only negatively influences on quality of created apps. Open platform will transfer it to qualitatively new level.
6. The mobile version of iChat. Also no comments. iPhone allows to be always in the Internet, but does not allow to communicate. It should be corrected somehow.
7. Use iPhone as an external disk. Some times ago this function was very pleased for iPod players, and today very few people wishes to carry with itself “flash”, if they already have iPod.
8. Synchronisation support through Bluetooth. Today iPhone uses Bluetooth only for headsets though today it looks an anachronism. Give the chance to owners of Apple’s gadget to exchange data through Bluetooth and you considerably simplify their life.
9. Video recording. iPhone has the quite good built in photocamera, not wise from Apple to forbid video recording.
10. Flash. Small addition to the previous point - the photocamera becomes even better, if receives built-in flash. Now in the conditions of insufficient light exposure photos quality should be much better.
11. Automatic reception of e-mails. Also it would be quite good, if iPhone immediately warned you about new messages in your inbox. Now you always need to start Mail.
12. Synchronisation of problems with iCal and Outlook. iPhone’s calendar one of the most convenient in the world, but support of problems and their synchronisation with iCal and Outlook would be amazing step forward.
13. Synchronisation of notes with Mac. You can create notes in various programs but these notes are not synchronised in any way with Apple iPhone.
14. SMS sending to several contacts. This function has 5-years old mobile phones, but iPhone for some reason hasn’t. Correct.
15. The RSS-Reader. Now many people prefer to read news through the RSS-feeds. It’s not only saves time for search of the necessary news, but also protects the Internet traffic, for iPhone it can be devilishly actual thing.
well lebgeneral most of the software you are talking about already exist for the ipohne, not through iphone directly, but through 3rd parties. no doubt your iphone should be jailbroken in order to do that.
I don't know what sync problem with the calendar your talking about, bc for me i synced all my calendar and contact from outlook and had no problems with that.
