I'm not sure how fast infections can develop, but to be on the safe side maybe you should check with an MD, just my opinion. Also depending on where you live, I'm not sure what medications are available to you, there are prescription pain killers that are local to the wound your dentist or MD may be able to recommend some for you if available.
