Wrong! In a civilized country like ITALY you would say you are from the city you were born in regardless where your mother or father are from!! This is the way it should be.

You will get over it! and u will get used to it. The US has all kinds of different last names (french, italian, english, german,african...) and they got used to it!

And to those who think that the children will feel belonging more to their father's country or city, I will give you my example (although both my parents are lebanese) I feel I am from my mother's day3a and have no connection whatsoever with my father's one! Sorry to disappoint you but your theory is not at all accurate.
