first of all, stress is just a process of adjustment to a situation, an event or a disturbance so that our system can maintain a certain balance in order to face external modifications. Stress isn't necessarily harmful but can be very vital sometimes!
if we take the Order-Disorder scale, we'll see that from an "order" perspective, stress can motivate people to be more organized, structured, alerted, and quicker in taking decisions and initiatives. ya3ne they will have a better performance!
from a disorder perspective, stress can have negative effects when the person spends too much time on details, can't manage to get over the weird feeling of stress in order to concentrate, panics because time is passing and end up messing things up, or not respecting a deadline..etc...
on a Power-Weakness scale, stress gives power thanks to biological modifications (specially the adrenaline) that pushes the person to physically move and be more motivated to give good results as well as strength to face problems! However if the stress persists, or is badly managed it can results in a feeling of disgust and laziness towards work! this is when the stress becomes a weakness
ya3ne to cut a long story short, stress is good but needs to be managed and used correctly! |
