Syria havent had a direct war with Israel since 1973, I dont see a reason for it happening anytime soon, especially that the current political situation is unfavourable to Syria.
Syria cannot depend on anyone for support in its war against Israel (maybe only from Iran), so i dont think they are dumb enough to go into a such miscalculated step that would eventually lead to the downfall of the regime (if it hasnt happened already via the Hariri tribunal)...
the last major Arab Israeli war was in 1973 when both Egypt and Syria took Israel by surprise only to have minimal success.
So after the Camp David treaty between Egypt and Israel, the Israeli Arab conflict was burried...
Syria would not venture into such moving sands in the near future, the survival of the regime is much more important! |
